PRICES

My hourly rate is $50.00

My daily rate is $350.00

Crack repairs generally range from $100 to $400 depending on the number of pins and tone hole inserts.
$200 to $250 is probably average.

The average oboe repair is about $70.00 plus tax and/or shipping where applicable.  But they may take from 5 minutes to a couple days.

Oboes don’t last forever, nor do they appreciate in value.  Key plating often outlasts the wood, or bore of the instrument, which gets “blown out”.  A set of cork pads may also last the life of the instrument, with the
exception of some of the smaller pads up top, especially the octaves.   For these reasons, the cost of a repad or overhaul, especially with key replating, often exceeds the market value of an older instrument.  A good quality student instrument, such as a plastic Fox or Renard, is often a better value than a top pro-line model past its prime.

LESSONS

I love to teach the repair of woodwind instruments and gougers.  My hourly and daily rates are as above, $45.00 and $300.00.  If you can’t afford this, consider sharing the cost with a friend.  More than two people plus myself would be a crowd here.  A guest room is available for those traveling.
